2025-05-07

Viking Lab (CEO Kim Dong-kyu) announced on the 7th that it will unveil, for the first time, its "AI-based Video Content Remastering and Editing Platform (AI MAM Solution)" at the Korea International Broadcast, Audio & Lighting Equipment Show (KOBA 2025), held at COEX Convention Center in Seoul.

The video remastering platform, to be showcased during the event from May 20 to 23, was developed through joint research with KBS Media Research Institute, JTBC Mediatech, The Stage, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). It is the outcome of the "2023 Culture Technology R&D" project supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.

The platform is equipped with an AI remastering engine that supports video restoration, conversion, and image generation, as well as an AI STT (speech-to-text) engine. According to Viking Lab, it enables automated content recognition, metadata generation, and optimized content search.

In particular, its "automatic classification and clustering of large-scale video data" feature is designed to improve the workflow efficiency of video-based businesses such as OTT platforms, broadcasters, and production companies. Built on Adobe Premiere, the system also allows collaboration between AI and visual effects tools from Autodesk, The Foundry, and others.

A Viking Lab representative stated, "Traditional MAM systems faced bottlenecks due to manual metadata entry, slow search, and incomplete content classification. The new AI MAM solution integrates a generative AI and machine learning-based analysis engine, enabling real-time recognition and automated management of video assets."
