Viking Lab (CEO Kim Dong-kyu) announced on the 14th that it will hold a joint research workshop on the "Development of an AI-Based Video Content Remastering and Editing Platform" at Twohim, a multi-cultural space in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, on the 18th.

The development of the AI-based video content remastering and editing platform is a research and development project designated and funded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency. It is part of an effort to localize video production technologies—including film, drama, comics, performing arts videos, and intangible cultural heritage restoration—that have so far relied heavily on overseas technologies. The ultimate goal is to achieve full domestic development of a video content remastering and editing platform.
The workshop will be joined by participating institutions in the research project, including KBS, MBC C&I, and The Stage, as well as the commissioned research institution, Korea University. The participants will share future directions for the project, engage in comprehensive discussions on the research, and explore additional avenues for collaboration.
The program will proceed in the following order: opening remarks, project overview, sessions with participating and commissioned research institutions, and closing.

Meanwhile, Viking Lab was founded in May of last year and has established expertise in metahuman distribution technology, the dissemination of cutting-edge media technologies, and production pipelines. Equipped with a wide range of capabilities—including metaverse technology, AI metahuman production, platforms, and software—the company was selected to participate in this project.
Following the workshop, Viking Lab plans to enhance various domestic content using generative AI technology. The company holds the vision of "spinning off past content to align with the modern industrial structure."
Kim Dong-kyu, CEO of Viking Lab, stated, "In this new era of third-generation media platforms, where content can be created solely through creativity and imagination, we will take on the mission of localizing content. With the development of Korea's first AI remastering platform, we will strive to expand into the global market."
